Lulus: What Brides Paid
81 prices reported at Lulus run a median $100, from $30 to $700. That sits below the $850 median across every route in this dataset. Separately, 155 brides described what the shop was like to deal with, and 86% of them recommend it.
What brides paid
Every row is one bride: what she paid for the gown, what the tailoring came to when she reported it, and the year.
| Gown | Tailoring | Year | The account |
|---|---|---|---|
| $30 | – | 2025 | Brand-new Lulus gown found on Facebook Marketplace for 30 dollars; she hemmed it herself and plans to add bra cups, so no tailor bill |
| $70 | $100 | 2020 | Cape-sleeve maxi hemmed and taken in at a few spots by a seamstress she rates highly |
| $80 | – | 2026 | Simple Lulus dress for a micro beach wedding; would not change a thing |
| $85 | – | 2026 | Simple gown chosen for an elopement |
| $90 | – | 2026 | Lulus dress 90, no alterations needed |
| $100 | – | 2024 | 100 dress from Lulus |
| $100 | – | 2020 | Spaghetti strap dress; she sewed her own tulle cape and hand stitched snaps onto the straps and cape to attach it |
| $111 | – | 2025 | Bought on sale against a regular price of about $158 |
| $130 | – | 2025 | Lulus dress 130; prefers it to the expensive store gowns she tried |
| $150 | $275 | 2022 | Lulu's dress altered at David's Bridal for about $275, $125 more than the dress; liner sewn in, slit and sleeves shortened; regrets the sleeves. |
| $200 | – | 2026 | Satin gown at 200 that she loved |
| $250 | – | 2025 | Ordered five candidates, kept one and returned the rest |
What brides recommend it for
- Ordered a batch to try at home and kept them about a week; fabrics did not feel cheap and matched what she expects from a 100 to 200 dress, though thicker-fabric styles were hard to zip. The Fausta fit her usual size.
- Bought the white lace back wide leg jumpsuit for her rehearsal and to change into at the reception. Needed the straps tightened because it showed more cleavage than she wanted, plus a hem on the legs.
- Wedding dress for under $200 for a beach elopement. She says the quality beat her expectations and it looks and feels like a bridal shop gown; returns and exchanges are easy with tags on.
- Arrived in about a week and felt heavier than expected. Ordered three sizes to compare; the shop issued a coupon so the extra order cost no more and waived the late return shipping fee.
- Ordered it ten days before a rained-out backyard ceremony after her original wedding was cancelled. The dress was ruined and binned afterwards; she still called it worth the money.
- Paid $99 and wore it unaltered; the fabric felt heavy and expensive and she got many compliments. The one flaw is the built-in underskirt, which shifts around and shows in photos.
- Long-sleeved fully beaded gown; her seamstress assumed it had cost over $1,000. Held up through ceremony and dinner with some beads shedding; tailoring cost more than the dress
- Has bought several Lulus dresses for other people's weddings; rates quality good and prices fair, and says the customer review photos let you judge fit on a similar body type
- Ordered a batch of gowns over a week to try at home; impressed by fit and quality for the price, 21-day returns, but one reorder of the same style arrived with a wonky seam
- White tulle embroidered gown bought in their Black Friday sale; her seamstress rated the construction and she puts the quality on a par with David's Bridal gowns she tried
What brides warn about
- Tried an $85 dress that fitted nicely and had the shape she wants; she is weighing it against an $850 custom gown and worries she would feel let down on the day.
- Site advertises free returns within 10 days of delivery; she was nervous about returning several dresses at once but ordered multiples anyway to try on at home.
- Dresses are generally nice but not high quality; she has been happy with several bridesmaid dresses from them but would not trust them with a bridal gown.
- Corset gown ordered online for an elopement; fits her figure well, but arrived creased and unhemmed and the skirt seam allowances show through the fabric.
- Tried one of their cheaper $130 dresses: beautiful, but the quality gap against a bridal shop gown is obvious. Still rates it as a worthwhile option.
- Ordered about ten and found the quality uneven, but the one she kept was great and the returns are easy enough to run an at-home try-on with family.
- At 5'9", usually a 12-14 and a 38C, she barely fit the XL and wears a non-padded bra with it; all her petite bridesmaids had to shorten theirs.
- Tried several on at home and wrote a photo try-on review; 5'3" and a size 2-4. Did not buy in the end but says the options were worth trying.
How it compares
The median across every route in this dataset is $850, a bridal salon runs $1,900, and secondhand sits lower again. A shop is worth judging against the route it belongs to rather than against the whole market, which is what the where-to-buy page sets out.
