What brides recommend it for

• Under $500 for a custom-sized gown in champagne and ivory. She ordered the try-on sample first, which arrived in about a week and she kept three days; arm movement in the off-the-shoulder style is slightly limited.

• Drove 3 hours to one of their few US stores to try on, adores the higher-end gown she chose; returns mean paying shipping, probably to China, plus a fee, and cheaper models get worse reports.
• A friend's gown came in around 499 and was lovely, and she nearly bought there. Warns to take a standard size: customized orders cannot be returned.
