  • Leave the review once the wedding is over so the next bride knows.
  • Check what else in the budget is quietly eating money; her flowers cost twice the gown and were not worth it.
  • Shop around for a seamstress instead of defaulting to the salon's, and expect the ordered gown to sit differently from the clipped sample.
  • Ask what off the rack costs on a high-end gown; hers came down from 9000 to about 4000 and still looked new.
  • You will feel guilty either way, so pick the version where you look how you want.
  • Knowing what moved you is useful even if you do not buy it: take the photograph to the next shop and ask for something like it.
